What is, and why Drupal?

Drupal is a free, open-source web development platform for online content and user communities, maintained and developed by a community of more than 100,000 users / developers. It is written in PHP and distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (or "GPL"), which means anyone is free to download it and share it with others. This open development model means that people are constantly working to make sure Drupal is a cutting-edge platform that supports the latest technologies that the Web has to offer Html5 & Css3, Object Oriented PHP, Symfony, Saas & Compass, Js/Ajax, Jquery, Nodejs, React, Angular, Vue.js RestFul Webservices, Web Gis 2.0, ecc.). The Drupal project's principles encourage modularity, standards, collaboration, ease-of-use, and more.
I have been using for years  Drupal as my main full time tool of work and development, having widely applied it in the design and creation of any type of web application, both basic and advanced, enterprise, too..
 
Among winning and unique features of Drupal easy to point out::

  • the ability to model any type of content and data base, according to the logic of objects and relational entities;
  • the incomparable efficiency of the developers' community and the quality and selection of functional modules and libraries for every need;

  • etc.
The quality of the documentation and the vastness of its API, both of its core and third parts, which lets me to experiment in a creative and stimulating continuous (and without limits) learning process,  in the development of its functional modules, creating and customizing themes & graphics template,  collaborating in a sophisticated common language with anyone in a global and international context.
 
For this, and for much more, Drupal has become the choice I prefer and propose to create any kind of web 2.0 application in different sectors: web 2.0 & social communities, ecommerce, web 2.0 gis, digital publishing, multimedia, e-learning, digital arecheology, etc.
