From Flat/Nested to Interactive Layout Paragraphs in Drupal
Hi All,
I am very thrilled to announce the working beta release of the brand new Layout Paragraphs module for Drupal 8 & 9.
As a natural evolution of its experimental predecessor module, Entity Reference with Layout (ERL), Layout Paragraphs provides an intuitive drag-and-drop experience for building flexible layouts with Paragraphs.
The module was created by Justin Toupin (by Aten Design Group) and developed with my active support and contribution (also on behalf of Unity Technologies).
Layout Paragraphs was designed from the ground up with Paragraphs in mind, and is able to integrate seamlessly with (and enhance) existing Paragraphs structures and reference fields.
We are convinced that the Layout Paragraphs module is destined to receive a great consensus in the worldwide community of Drupal users, as it is potentially able to greatly improve the interface and the interactive editing experience of every backend content creator and editor.
Technically it:
-
Provides a new Field Widget and Field Formatter for paragraph reference fields;
-
Leverages Drupal’s Layout API for building layouts;
-
Uses the paragraphs behaviors API for storing layout data;
We invite all Drupal and Web developers in general to give it a look and a try, and get involved into its opensource contribution according to the Drupal community values and principles.
